New outdoor area for Devon primary school

Marketing Research Manager, Camilla Hopwood, recently used her "Give Back Day" from AYMES to support a primary school project in Devon. The school has big ambitions to transform a piece of unused space into an outdoor learning area for children, and as part of its drive, it organised a volunteer day to help.  On the day, over 20 volunteers from the local area got involved in cutting down hedges, clearing space, and tidying the dead ground. Camilla specifically helped to clear a pond area, which will create a water and feeding area for many habitats for the children to watch and learn about.

Commenting on the day, Camilla said: "I am very grateful to AYMES for having "Give Back Days" and encouraging the team to invest in their communities.  It was a super day and great to be a part of something that will help to create memories for years to come.  I enjoyed it as much as the children will enjoy using their new space!"

The day was a huge success, with the whole area being cleared and now ready for the children to explore.  Moving forward, the school hopes to do even more with the space and is looking at different options and grants to support it. In the meantime, the children can enjoy playing in the great outdoors and have lots of fun in what is now an open, yet safe, environment.
