Wisdom Dhinha, Group Quality Assurance Compliance and Control Manager at AYMES, recently spent one of his Give Back Days supporting the Dougie Mac Charity Shop in Abbey Hulton, Staffordshire.
During his time at the Abbey Hulton charity shop in Stoke on Trent, Wisdom assisted the team by sorting and organising books, CDs and DVDs, as well as preparing clothing donations for display on the shop floor. His efforts helped maintain an organised and welcoming retail space that supports Dougie Mac’s vital hospice services.
Wisdom plans to use his remaining Give Back Days volunteering at a local park or nature reserve during the summer. Activities will include garden clean-ups, general maintenance and supporting projects that enhance and restore outdoor environments for the benefit of the local community.
Dougie Mac is a leading local hospice charity providing care and support to adults, young adults and children living with life-limiting illnesses. The charity also offers essential support to families and caregivers. This work closely aligns with AYMES’s vision to support people living with disease related malnutrition and to improve quality of life through compassionate care.
Reflecting on the experience, Wisdom said: “Volunteering at the Dougie Mac charity shop was incredibly rewarding. It was great to support a charity that makes such a meaningful difference to people and families in our local area.”
AYMES Give Back Days is an employee initiative that provides three paid charity engagement days each year, allowing employees to support meaningful causes within their local communities.
