The North Derbyshire Nutrition Support Project⁴ audited 51 general practices in North Derbyshire over an 18-month period which included 1430 patients. It found that,

(n=256) of prescriptions were stopped - no longer clinically indicated.

12% (n=169) of prescriptions were changed to an alternative.
The 2023 dietitian survey conducted by AYMES found that whilst a food first approach is always recommended, only 36% of dietitians felt that food first principles were followed by at least half of their patients.
