I am writing to you at what is a challenging time for us all; be it as individuals, families, as businesses and of course for those working on the front line delivering our public services.
Our thoughts are with those people who have been directly affected by the Coronavirus as well as those who, like us, are doing their best to adhere to the professional advice to contain the spread of this unprecedented and unwelcome virus.
Rest assured that we are taking our response to coronavirus (COVID-19) very seriously. First and foremost, looking after our customers and colleagues is our main priority, which is why we’re closely following Government advice to ensure we’re doing the right things.
Understandably, people are concerned about how best to support friends and family, especially older people, during the coronavirus pandemic. Official guidance is changing on a daily basis, so please ensure that you stay up-to-date with the latest government and NHS recommendations.
We know that it’s a worrying time for all, however, we’d like to reassure our customers and supporters that AYMES International will continue to provide delicious and cost-effective oral nutritional supplements that support malnourished patients and those at risk of malnutrition.
AYMES has been leading the way with remote working since our launch in 2013. This means that recent Government advice to work from home (where possible), has had minimal impact on our business operations.
Whilst the majority of our workforce work remotely, a small minority of our workforce, predominantly those involved in the sales team, conduct visits in clinical and care settings. In line with Government advice, we have decided to suspend all face-to-face meetings for the time being. We will continue to monitor this situation but our sales team is available for remote meetings using your preferred software platform.
As part of our commitment to helping our wider community, we are proud to announce that we are introducing a new “Being The Difference” initiative with immediate effect for AYMES staff. AYMES employees will be able to allocate a proportion of their work time to be spent working in the community. This might involve doing grocery runs for someone who is elderly or needs additional support or it might involve providing some much-needed support to a voluntary or community organisation.
We were pleased to hear that one of our colleagues has already used this opportunity to donate an allocation of AYMES Creme to Meals-on-wheels in West Dublin, who supply meals to 100 older/vulnerable people every day. They were delighted and grateful for this practical donation.
Rest assured our supply chain will continue to operate as normal, and we do not envisage any disruptions to the delivery process of your nutritional supplements.
If you usually collect prescriptions from your pharmacy and are unable to leave your home, we’d encourage you to speak with your pharmacist to see if they are able to deliver your prescriptions directly to your door. Alternatively, you could ask a friend, relative or neighbour to help with collecting your prescriptions. If you feel that you’d benefit from a longer duration prescription than usual, please speak to your GP practice to see if this can be arranged for you.
We are working hard to develop a series of written resources on our website and on social media, with information about ways to support your loved ones to eat and drink well during this difficult time.
AYMES Retail is a nutritionally-balanced, over-the-counter build-up shake ideal for people who need an extra boost but don't require a prescription, providing up to 265kcal per serving when mixed with 200ml whole milk. Presented in a powder format, based on skimmed milk powder with added carbohydrate, fat, vitamins and minerals, it’s an ideal store cupboard essential for anyone with poor appetite. It’s available to order online (delivered right to your door) or you can purchase it directly from pharmacies.
We wish to express our sincere thanks to frontline healthcare professionals who are working tirelessly to support our nation through this pandemic. We understand that practices may be changing within places of work, which may affect the ways in which treatment is offered.
Our AYMES sample service allows healthcare professionals to order Starter Packs either to themselves or directly to their patients. We’ll never send out a sample without an HCP request, and if a patient requests one themselves, the order will not be processed. Orders placed before 12 noon will be delivered the next day (UK mainland only).
Additionally, our AYMES Academy has a collection of relevant information and resources on a variety of disease areas to support healthcare professionals.
I would also like to reassure you that we have plenty of product in stock and are confident that we can meet the needs of health care professionals and their patients during this period of significant uncertainty.
Here at AYMES we pride ourselves on ensuring our supply chain is prepared for the unexpected. Indeed, it is because of our advance preparations for a possible hard Brexit earlier this year that we have built up a significant amount of additional product in stock and on call. Therefore, please rest assured and know that we are fully equipped and ready to deliver on any orders that you place in the coming months.
I know that we are faced with an unprecedented and worrying situation, but I can promise you that everyone at AYMES is focussed on minimising disruption to our customers whilst continuing to provide delicious, cost-effective oral nutritional supplements that support malnourished patients and those at risk of malnutrition. If you have any concerns or questions then you can call our Customer Careline on +44 (0) 845 680 5496 and we’ll do our very best to help.
